Mircom’s MS-series modules are the addressable interface devices that allow conventional initiating and notification hardware to participate in an intelligent SLC-loop fire alarm system. The MS-401U is the single-input monitor module within that family: it occupies one address on the SLC, supervises the conventional Class B initiating device circuit wired to its input terminals, and reports normal, alarm, trouble, and open/short conditions back to the Mircom control panel. Module quantity per loop is governed by the panel’s SLC capacity table and by the placement of short-circuit isolators on the loop. Address setting, EOL resistor value, and circuit class must be confirmed in the panel program before commissioning.
