The Gamewell-FCI ASD-PL3R is the remote-test variant of the Velociti Series 3 photoelectric detector. It shares the re-engineered UL 268 7th Edition optical chamber and Velociti loop integration of the ASD-PL3, with the added ability to be tested remotely when installed in a duct housing.
Each detector occupies one address on a Gamewell-FCI Velociti loop and reports continuous temperature data back to the panel. Rotary decimal switches set addresses from 01 to 159. Dual bicolor LEDs provide 360 degree visibility (green on poll, red on alarm).
Remote test capability for duct installations
The R in ASD-PL3R stands for remote test. When the detector head sits inside a duct housing on a return-air or supply-air duct, physical access for routine functional testing becomes impractical. The ASD-PL3R accepts a test signal from a remote test station so testing can happen at floor level instead of at the duct.
Use with DNR or DNRW duct housing
The ASD-PL3R is the detector head only. Pair it with the Gamewell-FCI DNR (non-relay) or DNRW (non-relay, watertight) duct housing for return-air or supply-air duct monitoring per NFPA 90A and IMC 606. Without the duct housing the remote-test capability has no application, for non-duct installs, use the standard ASD-PL3 instead.
Compatible panels: E3 Series, S3 Series, GWF-7075
ASD-PL3R runs on Velociti protocol. E3 Series and S3 Series panels speak Velociti natively with full feature support. GWF-7075 supports Velociti but not CLIP, relevant only when mixing this loop with -IV detectors.
