The Gamewell-FCI ASD-PL2F is the Velociti Series 2 intelligent addressable photoelectric smoke detector. It is a service-only part for existing Series 2 / CLIP-protocol installations. For new construction and full retrofits, the correct current SKU is the ASD-PL3-IV, see the cross-reference section below.

Each detector occupies one address on a Gamewell-FCI loop and reports continuous temperature data back to the panel. Rotary decimal switches set addresses from 01 to 159. Sensitivity is programmable via panel software.

Why this is a service-only part

The Series 3 family (ASD-PL3 and ASD-PL3-IV) supersedes Series 2 with a redesigned optical chamber that meets UL 268 7th Edition. The ASD-PL2F remains in catalog so that integrators servicing existing Velociti Series 2 installations can keep matching detector models on the same loop, a requirement on many AHJ-inspected jobs. New installs and full retrofits should specify ASD-PL3 (Velociti only) or ASD-PL3-IV (Velociti + CLIP) instead.

Replacement path: ASD-PL3-IV, not ASD-PL3

Because the ASD-PL2F runs primarily on CLIP-compatible Velociti panels, the only valid direct replacement is the ASD-PL3-IV, which retains CLIP backwards-compatibility. The white ASD-PL3 is Velociti-only and will not address on a CLIP loop, substituting it leads to an unresponsive address. This protocol rule is hard.

Base required, sold separately

The detector head ships without a base. Same base ecosystem as Series 3 photoelectric (B501-IV, B300-6, B200 series sounder, B224 relay / isolator).
