The SK-ISO is an addressable short-circuit isolator module for the Silent Knight SK protocol SLC. When a wiring short occurs on the loop, the SK-ISO disconnects the faulted segment while allowing the remainder of the SLC to continue operating — a requirement for Class A (Style 6 or 7) wiring topology under NFPA 72. It is used with 5820XL and 6500 series fire alarm control panels (a Honeywell brand). NFPA 72 recommends placing isolators before and after every group of up to 25 devices on a Class A loop.
