The Gamewell-FCI MCS-PTIR-IV is the ivory variant of the three-sensor multi-criteria detector. Photoelectric, thermal (135°F rate-of-rise), and infrared sensors share one head and one SLC address. Algorithm-driven cross-sensor logic rejects nuisance triggers while keeping fire response fast.
The ivory finish supports CLIP backwards-compatibility on legacy E3 and S3 loops, the detector can drop onto an existing CLIP-protocol loop without forcing a wholesale conversion. Specs are otherwise identical to the white MCS-PTIR. Single Velociti or CLIP address per detector.
Why ivory + CLIP, retrofit-grade detector
Ivory exists for color-matching retrofits where existing ceiling detectors are ivory. CLIP backwards-compat is the protocol layer that makes the SKU usable on old E3 / S3 loops still running ASD-PL2F-vintage CLIP detectors. The combination, color match plus protocol compatibility, is the only way to drop a modern multi-criteria detector into a legacy install without wiring rework.
Three sensors, distinct alarms, when this design wins
Theater stages, hotel lobbies, hospital common areas, performance venues, places where nuisance smoke is expected but real fire still needs immediate response. The MCS-PTIR-IV algorithm waits for two of three sensors to agree before alarming. The detector also reports distinct smoke and heat events, allowing different evacuation strategies on photo vs thermal trips.
Air velocity limit vs MCS-COF3
Rated 0 to 300 ft/min. For HVAC paths or higher-velocity ceilings plus CO coverage, specify MCS-COF3 (white) or MCS-COF3-IV (ivory) instead. Pick by environment first.
