Central operator interface for E3 Broadband

The INI-VGC is the voice gateway module at the heart of an INCC (Intelligent Network Command Center). It connects the operator console, touchscreens, switches, microphone, telephone, to the E3 Broadband token-ring network. Each INI-VGC supports up to 16 ASM-16 programmable switch modules, giving the operator console 256 programmable switches with three LEDs each (red / yellow / green) for status indication.

INI-VGC vs INI-VGE vs INI-VGX

The three voice gateways are not interchangeable. INI-VGC drives the INCC central operator console in E3 Broadband. INI-VGX drives the INX distributed audio transponder nodes in the same E3 Broadband system. INI-VGE is the bulk voice gateway in the older E3 Classic architecture (centralized AA-100/AA-120 amplifiers). Pick by panel role and architecture, not by family alone.

Network topology and node count

Peer-to-peer ARCNET token-ring network. Up to 64 nodes per network (122 with the ANX expander board). 3,000 ft twisted-pair between nodes, up to 8 dB loss on fiber-optic links. Class A wiring extends to 4,500 ft between nodes. Built-in isolation at each node permits Style 4, 6, and 7 network configurations.
