The Gamewell-FCI ATD-L3R-IV is the ivory rate-of-rise variant of the Velociti Series 3 thermal detector. It combines a 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature trigger with rate-of-rise detection (greater than 15°F per minute) and supports both Velociti and CLIP protocols, making it the right service part for legacy E3/S3 installations that still carry CLIP detectors.

Each detector occupies one address on a Gamewell-FCI loop and reports continuous temperature data back to the panel. Rotary decimal switches set addresses from 01 to 159. Dual bicolor LEDs provide 360 degree visibility (green on poll, red on alarm).

Rate-of-rise versus fixed-only, when each is correct

Fixed thermal (ATD-L3) reacts only when ambient temperature crosses 135°F. Rate-of-rise (this ATD-L3R-IV) reacts to either the 135°F threshold OR a temperature climb greater than 15°F per minute, whichever comes first. The faster trigger matters when a fire grows quickly, kitchens, mechanical spaces, equipment rooms. Where ambient swings naturally (parking decks in summer) prefer fixed-only to avoid false trips.

Why ivory + dual-protocol, retrofit-grade

The ivory finish exists primarily for retrofit color match on legacy installs. Velociti + CLIP dual-protocol support lets this detector drop onto an existing CLIP loop without requiring loop conversion. Specs are otherwise identical to the white ATD-L3R.

Compatible panels: E3 Series, S3 Series, GWF-7075

E3 Series and S3 Series panels handle both Velociti and CLIP, the ATD-L3R-IV fits either protocol mode. The GWF-7075 supports Velociti only, so the CLIP fallback never activates on that panel.

Base required, sold separately

The detector head ships without a base. Ivory pairings: B501-IV (ivory 4-inch flangeless), B300-6-IV (ivory 6-inch flanged). Ivory bases match the head color, white bases also fit but break the ceiling-color match.
