The Gamewell-FCI ASD-PL3 is an intelligent addressable photoelectric smoke detector in the Velociti Series 3 family. It uses a re-engineered optical sensing chamber tuned for the wider combustion-source range required by UL 268 7th Edition, with sensitivity programmable per panel software.

Each detector occupies one address on the loop and reports continuous temperature data back to the panel for selective maintenance and exact device location. Rotary decimal switches set addresses from 01 to 159. Dual bicolor LEDs provide 360 degree visibility (green on poll, red on alarm).

Velociti Series 3 vs earlier Velociti generations

The Series 3 chamber redesign extends sensitivity across more combustion types than the original Velociti and Velociti 2 chambers, while keeping the same address logic and panel integration. ASD-PL3 is the white, Velociti-only variant. For installations still running CLIP-protocol detectors on E3 or S3 panels, use the ASD-PL3-IV ivory variant instead.

Compatible panels: E3 Series, S3 Series, GWF-7075

ASD-PL3 runs on Velociti protocol. E3 Series and S3 Series panels speak Velociti natively with full feature support. The GWF-7075 supports Velociti but does not handle CLIP, which is not an issue for the white ASD-PL3 but matters when mixing with -IV detectors on the same loop.

Base required, sold separately

The detector head ships without a base. Typical pairings are the B501-WHITE 4-inch flangeless base for surface-flush installs, or the B300-6 6-inch flanged base for legacy ceiling boxes. Sounder, isolator, and relay bases from the B200 and B224 series are also compatible (see compatible bases list).
