Rate-of-rise heat detectors respond to rapid increases in ambient temperature, rather than relying solely on a fixed threshold. The H365R activates when temperature climbs faster than 15°F per minute, making it sensitive to fast-developing fires while tolerating normal temperature fluctuations in kitchens, mechanical rooms, and other warm environments. The interchangeable base system allows field substitution between sensor head types without disturbing existing wiring, and the built-in tamper-resistant feature protects against inadvertent removal.
